Getter Robo Arc Volume 1 Chapter 1

This is it. The last Getter Robo series by Ken Ishikawa before his passing in 2006. The very last manga to continue the story of Getter and the Saotome labs started in the 1970s. I'll tell you now - this manga series ends on a cliffhanger. The magazine that it was published in, Super Robot Magazine, was discontinued midway through the series' run. Presumably, Ishikawa was going to continue the series, as the final page of the manga stated: "Getter Robo Arc Part 1: End". But sadly, that never came to be.

Presenting:
(Getter Robo Saga) Getter Robo Arc Volume 1 Chapter 1

I'd like to thank OtherSideofSky for translating this series and Getter Robo G. His work is top notch and his speed is just as good. And I'd like to thank everyone who donated to get this project going. Without you, this wouldn't have been possible. Thank you.

P.S. The reading order of Getter Robo Saga is as follows:
Getter Robo, Getter Robo G, Getter Robo Go, Shin Getter Robo, Getter Robo Arc

  4. Aw man, the poor guy kicked off before he could really give closure to this epic saga? That always happens to good authors.

  8. First of all, let me thank you for translating (quite professionally, btw) all this marvelous stuff. You guys are great! I already bought everything I could in my country (Italy) about the Getters, but Ark is not likely to be published anytime soon... So, thank you again! :D

Beside congratulations, I posted this to ask you if you have any plans to release any of the 'newer' stuff about Getter (Hien and Apocrypha DASH/DARKNESS), and also I remeber vaguely I read somewhere that there's a version of Ark that has somewhat of a more definite ending than the original run... Am I imagining things? If I'm right, which version are you going to post?

Thanks again, and keep up the good work! ^_^

    1. Well, I don't have much interest in non-Ishikawa Getter works honestly. But, I would like to see Hien scanlated one day if I can ever get a translator for it. I don't think I'll ever work on DASH/DARKNESS.

About Getter Arc's ending... All compiled versions of Arc have 20 more pages than the original magazine publication's ending. So that means the version we're scanlating has an extra 20 pages in its ending compared to the original printing of Arc.
